How Adventures Far and Wide began…
You know that moment where you’re sitting next to a stranger at a wedding and in a desperate attempt to save an otherwise dead conversation, you suddenly bring up travel? Those are some of the most interesting (dare I say risky) moments in life and also part of the reason I started this blog. I love hearing about as well as telling stories about the time I got lost in London and somehow wound up in an entirely different city, or that awkward moment where I tried to be a Good Samaritan but ended up getting proposed to on my flight back from Istanbul. I hope that this blog will inspire others to go out there and chase their dreams, or help someone when they need a quick conversation starter.
A little bit about me..
Ironically, I am the worst when it comes to geography. You can ask me where any country is located and I will have to pull up my little world map that I have saved on my phone and double check. As embarrassing as it is, I am working on it and trying to explore as much as possible in order to avoid any future geographic mishaps.
Having lived in both South Africa and the United States, I can confidently say that my accent is just as confused as I am (helloo identity crisis). My friends tell me that there are moments when I sound like a proper Michigander, and then I mix it up with a little Cape Town slang. The more I travel, the more I seem to adopt certain phrases and words. I love to say that my accent is an adventure on its own.
